Our MVP this season is Travis Broughman. Travis’ presence on the ice is undeniable. Off the ice, his fun loving attitude makes him a favorite among his teammates. A special person and player, we look forward to continuing to watch him grow over the next two seasons. Congrats Bro!

The Pete Sears Perseverance Award goes to an individual that displays high character, work ethic, and most of all perseverance. This years recipient is sophomore defenseman Tyler Antonucci. Beloved by his teammates, Tyler embodies the characteristics that “Coach” Sears represent.

10 years ago today, Laker great Neil Musselwhite was the only DIII player selected to participate at the DI Frozen Four Skills Challenge. Neil won the fastest skater competition with a record time of 14.3 seconds. Neil also finished 2nd in the hardest shot competition@91.8mph.

It is September and that means it is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month! Every Tuesday during September SUNY Oswego will continue the campaign to bring awareness to ovarian cancer symptoms and the disease via Wear Teal on Tuesdays.  TEAL- stands for “Tell Every Amazing Lady”

Sophomore goaltender, Steven Kozikoski is this years recipient of our Most Improved Award. As a freshman “Koz” did not see any game action. Day in and day out, a consummate teammate, Koz earned his opportunity this season. He helped lead our team to the Sunyac finals going 6-2-1.

Cedric Hansen is this years recipient of our Academic Excellence Award. A senior, software engineering major, Cedric will graduate this spring with a cumulative GPA of 3.87. Cedric will be working for IBM back home in Ottawa, Ontario following graduation. Congratulations Cedric!
